Honduras 2023

Honduras has many different areas, terrains, and people, although it is one country with the majority speaking on language. You have the upper and lower class, the tourists and natives, and then you have the Chortis. The Chortis live up high in the mountains of Honduras and rarely travel down the mountains. They are limited in their education, but do have schools. Most adults don’t read or write, but have amazing listening skills.

In March of 2023, Raj went to Honduras on a mission trip with the local church he attends. Though he has gone before, his goal this year was to have a time of pastor training and encouraging these pastors in their work for the Lord. He was able to have the training, and many were encouraged to follow what the scripture says and teach it to their congregations.

The mission team also does Vacation Bible school in the schools in Honduras. Raj was assigned the job of being a floater in case parents attended the Bible school and then Raj could take them aside and share the good news of Jesus. Even though in the previous year there had not been a lot of parents attendance at the schools, the team was ready for what might happen. The Lord was faithful in providing souls to be ready. 2023 had been a drought year for those in this part of Honduras, so with no rains and no work, the parents ended up attending school with their children to learn and have something to do. This leant to Raj being able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to many adults with seventeen professing Christ as their Lord and Savior!
